Ten interesting foods I hope to eat at some point in 2010

  1. Nasi goreng:  Indonesian fried rice with curry.
  2. Pastitsio:  Greek noodles with lamb, parmesan and cream sauce.
  3. West African peanut soup:  I didn’t think tomotos and peanut butter would taste good together either, but they do!
  4. Jambalaya:  Rice, veggies, spicy sausage, chicken or shrimp.
  5. Kung Pao chicken:  Colorful stir fried vegetables with chicken-almost too pretty to eat
  6. Tonkatsu:  Japanese panko-crusted pork cutlet; the key is the sauce.
  7. Hummus:  Garlic, chickpeas, garlic, tahini, garlic (even Aldi makes a great variety).
  8. Saganaki:  Greek flaming cheese made famous by Chicago’s Parthenon restaurant.
  9. Bulgogi:  Korean barbecued beef.
  10. Pesto:  Basil in its finest form.
