In his Incomplete Manifesto for Growth, Bruce Mau asserts in statement #19 that "every object has the capacity to stand for something other than what is apparent. Work on what it stands for." The things that surround us are much more than purely functional objects—they are items that reflect our deepest values, our stories and to which we attach meaning.
