i received an e-mail with a link to this opinion piece:

http://www.chalcedon.edu/articles/0501/050101-1duigon.php

it covers the arrest of several Christian protesters who were holding banners, singing hymns and quoting Bible verses at a homosexual street fair in Philadelphia. i tried to find a news article with more details, but couldn’t find one i didn’t have to pay for.

what it did find in my search, however, is that this is a huge story with Christian media outlets. many see this arrest as proof of the gay rights’ lobby agenda to criminalize Christianity.

what do you think? what action should be taken in response to this issue?

That’s a very good question. I’d like to add another question to it.

What if the situation were the same, but the positions reversed? What if a large group of Christians gathered together (on public land) for a festival celebrating their faith and a small group of gay rights advocates came in the midst of the gathering and started protesting with a bull horn and singing songs.

Would the Christians try to issolate them and prevent their message from being heard? Would we block them from passing through? Would we cheer if they were dragged off by the police and arrested?

Would we be right to do so?

Every Christian in the nation should fast & pray and we should all hit the streets…but, it’s not going to happen :?
