A Different Approach

Here is an interesting article about a group of pro-life Christians and pro-choice individuals in Asheville, NC who decided to meet together and look for common ground. That they became good friends might surprise some. What do you think of efforts such as this?

I think it’s a wonderful example of what can happen when people focus on what they have in common, rather than what divides them. They both achieve a bit of what they desire and the all-around focus becomes messy, complex human beings rather than artificial categories. This method relates to fair trade, as well, where "conservatives" can be glad that there’s a way for people to learn skills and work for a living, while ’liberals" can be glad for something that takes an intentional humanitarian approach.
