“A Christian is one who points at Christ and says, ‘I can’t prove a thing, but there’s something about his eyes and his voice. There’s something about the way he carries his head, his hands. The way he carries his cross. The way he carries me.’”

A Christian is one who accepts Jesus’ sacrifice for her or him. Jesus got tortured—-with all that humans & hell could throw at him—-for us,
so if we ask forgiveness for where we have hurt ourselves, hurt others, and so offended God, we are forgiven.

The punishment of our disobedience has been borne by Jesus.

(I look forward to being shocked and tormented —-just a little when I view t he PASSION film coming in late Feb. I want to experience just a tiny taste of the horror my evil deeds brought onto the God/Man Jesus.)

I like this quote because it acknowledges that it isn’t just what a Christian does, but the way she does it. Being a Christian means having a certain style, exhibiting a unique taste that’s evident in all the things she does. Lots of people carry crosses around, but Christians suffer it in style.
