From testimony of a student before a senate committee concerning profs in her college who were intimidating those students who did not share t heir political viewpoints…(Not rational argument, & scholarly debate…but riducule…intimidation per the context of the quote)

However, her liberal classmates stood up for persons who shared a different viewpoint than them (and most of their profs) and also stood for diversity of ideas, politics on t heir campus
"…even more importantly the liberal students began to speak up. They began to say, ?You know this not a fair environment for conservatives and for those who hold other views.? And it was actually the liberal students and I am very proud of them for saying we want an environment that is intellectually stimulating. We need to know the other side. We want to be challenged in our own views so we can be certain. In fact it really was a wake-up call to our professors and to the administration. "

In case the heart of my quote was missed in the context that I gave, here it is

“…I am very proud of them [those students with different views than her]
for saying we want a [college] environment that is intellectually stimulating.
We need to know the other side.
We want to be challenged in our own views so we can be certain…”
