today is the last day of our iGNITE! commitment campaign to raise monthly contributions for *cino. if you’d like, you can contribute online at https://studiou1.securesites.com/cultureisnotoptional/ignite/contribute.cfm.

if you’d like to know more about *cino’s future plans, please see the back issue, Commitment: The Meta Issue (../issues/backIssue.cfm?issueid=14).

thanks!

thank you to everyone who contributed to the iGNITE! commitment campaign! it was our first foray into “real” fundraising for *cino and it was a great success. we raised $832 in monthly commitments and over $2,100 in one-time donations!

we’re really excited about the things we have planned for *cino. look for changes to the web site in the near future—we’re in the process of developing sections for each of the modes described in the feature of the Meta issue.

if you are interested in contributing in other ways to *cino—writing, submitting artwork, introducing *cino to your church—please contact us through this form: ../contact/contact.cfm?dept=comments

thanks again!

Okay, i can’t believe I am writing this because it is the final day of the NPR fund drive and I have about had it with any and all types of fundraising, and also I am glad to see that the pop up window is done because it kept popping up and gettting in my way — BUT — I confess it was kind of cool to see how much everyone had contributed and I wondered if you could maybe bring it back, not as a pop up, but maybe down at the bottom of the right hand side of the main page of the website, maybe under the links to places where we can buy stuff and in so doing contribute to cino? Not so that it is in our face, but down there, waiting to be checked out?
I also wondered, are you guys making any money off the websites where we spend money and some goes to cino. I know that with places like that, there needs to be a minimum number of purchases before those big ole 36 cent royalty checks start a rollin in. What’s the deal?

trust me, most fundraising efforts annoy me, too. it’s kind of a catch-22 for us: we don’t like fundraising, but without funds *cino will fail completely. having said that, we feel strongly about the vision behind *cino that we are willing to do something completely against our nature to try to see the vision through. we tried as best we could with the iGNITE! campaign not to be terribly annoying. please let us know if the campaign annoyed you (for whatever reason) and give us ideas as to how we could do better in the future.

as far as the affiliate links . . . i just checked last weekend and we’ve made approximately $50 via folks clicking through our site and purchasing things through affiliate programs on other sites. while it’s certainly not a lot, it’s $50 we didn’t have before. most affiliate programs won’t send out a check until you’ve accrued $20 or $25 worth of commission (so they don’t send out a million $.36 checks), and we haven’t met either amount on any one site. we’re very close, though!
