How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don?t think.

Great hitler quote. Shut off one’s brain & just let culture/political change “happen”. (Because Hitler revamped most of the culture—to serve his views of reality.)

Some of the persons/group that rise up TODAY in US culture,(sometimes a bit obnoxiously-but with sincerity & passion)
…and protest some of the cultural changes
…(some would say—mutations)
…are fueled by the negative example of 1920’s & 1930’s sleeping German citizens. (as I have sometimes heard/read them to say directly)

Hannah Arendt spent much of her life thinking about why and how more people should think because of Hitler’s Germany and the apparent unthinkingness of the people during that time. I must plug her book, “Eichmann in Jerusalem”, yet again for anyone who has the time. The question is more what people should be thinking to avoid something like Hitler’s Germany or, moreso, what does it mean to think?

Apparently this was originally from John Adams. Not to say that Hitler wouldn’t have reaped the benefits of this.
