A completely useless topic

I was sitting around with a few friends awhile back, and we were reading one of those “Would You Rather” books—the kind that pose a supposedly very funny/tough question about the lesser of two evils, setting up a hypothetical choice you have to make. Well, this particular book wasn’t that great, so we started thinking up our own Would You Rather questions. I realize this isn’t the most enriching topic ever. Come on, go with it. Maybe we can write a book and make literally tens of dollars.

The best WYR (which is an “insider’s” acronym for Would You Rather—see the clever abbreviation?) is one that is both funny AND poses truly tough question. However, given the choice, I’d say a tough question is the more important of the two.

Here are a few examples I’ve heard before:
Would you rather die by being thrown off a cliff or shot? (Consider: it doesn’t mention how many times or what kind of a cliff or where they’d shoot you.)
Would you rather have blue skin or fart confetti?
Would you rather have one buttock or three?

A few we thought up:
Would you rather be naked at High School graduation or meeting your girlfriend’s parents?
Would you rather be Daffy Duck from the waist up or Porky Pig from the waist down (Consider: if you choose the latter you will be about 3 feet tall.)?
Would you rather hit EVERY light red in traffic or have live turtles follow you everywhere?
Would you rather have a bladder the size of a walnut or a nose the size of a potato?

Any contributions are more than welcome.

I liked your list, and am struggling to answer a few. I actually first discovered that one of my now good friends was clever when he came up with one of these questions.

While listening to a song that mentioned being allergic to love, he quipped “Would you rather be allergic to love or to floors?”

I still can’t answer that one.

That’s a great one. Does the floors option mean that you can never touch a floor (or break out in hives) at all, or just that you have to have shoes on all the time? What is considered to be ample protection from the floors? Because right now I’m thinking it would be better to go with floors, unless there’s something more to it . . .

Would you rather people could only tell you nice things about yourself (whether it’s true words or just flattery) or people could only tell you the negative things they think about you?

I like that one.

Would you rather have to watch every new movie that came out or never watch a movie again?
