BBC,

I don’t run or do sports because I want to glorify God (at least that’s not necessarily my thought process). I do it because God has put a passion for those things in me and I love doing them. By doing what God created me to do I glorify him.
God gives us gifts for a reason.
Last year when I did triathlons I was frustrated because the people I was hanging out with were always trying to get me to spend more time training with them and more money on equipment. I felt like I was being tempted more by them than impacting them for Christ and wondered if God wanted me spending my time and energy on other things.
But this last triathlon I got a flat tire, but one guy remembered me from last year and he ended up going to church with me and wants to keep coming.
So God uses our gifts to glorify himself in a variety of ways (many times unexpected ways).
I believe if we do what we are passionate about (provided its not sin), even if it might not seem like it’s directly glorifying God, God blesses it and uses it.
