Hi there. I’m interested in getting a few thoughts and opinions on theater. So, this is just a rough survey, meant for anyone who cares to reply.

How often do you attend the theater? (i.e. live performances of all sorts: musicals, comedies, dramas, improv, performance art, all that stuff) Once a year/month/week? Daily? Twice a day?

Do you tend to patronize one particular theater or do you attend performances by many different theater companies and touring groups?

What ‘style’ of theater performances are you most likely to attend? (again: musicals, comedies, dramas, improv, etc.)

THANKS!

My husband and I see about 6-7 performances a year, the bulk of which are in the summer. They are mainly plays, with a few classical music or other musical performances thrown in. The plays are typically those by Shakespeare, G.B. Shaw, Chekov, Sam Shepard, Oscar Wilde, Ibsen. We like dramas, tragedies (my husband loves Greek tragedies) and comedies. We tend to see plays only performed by American Players Theatre here in Wisconsin, or plays that have an actor or two from APT or that are directed by an APT person.
