Anyone see the MTV video awards? I enjoyed Jimmy Falloon’s gut wrenching rendition of Enrique Eglasias’ Hero’s.

And the Hives of course. With Mick Jagger reincarnating as a frustrated punk. They have the spirit though.

Anyway. I think we should start an academy for music video making. Something like the grammy’s. Do they have a category for music videos in the oscars? They should. Some of my favourites are by the Eels. Check it out on getmusic.com.

Anyway, it’d be nice to get this artform out of commercialism’s hands a bit more.

Curse my lack of MTV. I want my MTV. Actually, I want my MTV2.

The only awards for videos are the VMAs, I believe. They’re still relatively unrecognized as a real art form in many circles. Maybe we should start our own music video awards. What kinds of credentials do you need to give awards, anyway? We’re as qualified as anyone.

Peter Gabriel’s videos are incredible. Stop motion photography. Very cool stuff. I remember the Chili Peppers’ “Breaking the Girl” was interesting too.
