Why write for me
when you can write
for you,
choose your own
fruit…
what would it be now:
apples, melons, strawberries?
Maybe nuts
would do; I’m allergic
but it wouldn’t matter,
if you only wrote 
for you. Almonds 
by the bushel,
skins paper thin,
bitter, flesh sweet,
sliced, crushed, chopped
down the lines
and everywhere
in
between.
