We people of the book
   we snake-venom ink
      we clumsy hands
         can’t even catch fallen angels.

We basket-weaving failures
   we holes in our nets
      forgotten how to fish
         we empty-handed

We small palms can only hold
   one thing in each moment.
      How difficult together is
         for a small-handed people.
