A room in God?s house

Finding space to create within the Church?s embrace

I never expected to be a part of Christian studio group… I’m thrilled that we can communicate and encourage one another without feeling threatened. We are growing together. We are building a community.

As for the space, I really have been enjoying the church. It hasn’t been too hot lately and when it is, I cruise down to the basement and play the piano in the dark. It’s awesome and mysterious down there. I feel a bit like the kids in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe—alone and investigating an enormous old house hoping for a discovery.

I think that having a space in which to work that is not within earshot of my two awesome sons has been indispensable. I am excited about taking on the long thankless tasks of sifting through my junk pile of ideas for the message that God has given me. I hope that we can bring all of the living generations to a higher place through our work, whether in teaching, inspiring, or any of the other myriad things for which God uses artists. Once more into the breach! Time to make the doughnuts!
