The week of November 16th, PBS will air Is Walmart Good For America? on Frontline.

Wouldn’t a better question be “Is Walmart Good For the World?”?

I’d say your evil father in law is pointing out that there is no black and white. That even within the walls of evil Walmart good things can happen. But it’s ludicrous to suggest that these people could not have been hired by one of the stores Walmart replaced.

anyone interested in this should check out laryn’s response to his father-in-law too. the last part had me chortling. and then there’s David K.’s response. He singlehandledly pulled himself up from poverty by his bootstraps and thnks walmart employees should stop whining and start to appreciate their luxuriously air-conditioned work-place.
